While the Rev. Dwight Poundstone was participating in the meeting of the Presbytery of California at Beverly Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Los Angeles on April 11, 1951, his car was stolen from the parking lot. Thankfully, the car and its contents were recovered by police the next evening.
While the theft was taking place, the Rev. Wilson Albright of Manhattan Beach was elected Moderator of the Presbytery, and the Rev. Herman Peterson clerk. Two questions were referred to the General Assembly. One related to the subject of dispensationalism, and the other to the matter of ordaining men as ministers who have already been ordained as elders.
