July 7 Today in OPC History

On this date in 2009, the the Seventy-Seventh General Assembly of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church meeting on the campus of Trinity College in Palos Heights, Illinois, elected the Rev. Alan R. Pontier as moderator. Ordained in 1977 in the Bible Presbyterian Church, Mr. Pontier was received into the OPC in 1988 and installed as pastor of Beverly OPC in Los Angeles, California. From 2006 to 2015, Mr. Pontier served as an Evangelist of the Presbytery of Southern California laboring with Big Bear Valley OPC in Big Bear, California.
