On March 28, 2012, sixteen young men, nominated from fifteen congregations in ten presbyteries, had arrived in Escondido, California, for the start of the OPC Timothy Conference. Throughout the day and night, David Winslow made multiple trips to the San Diego airport to pick up arriving attendees and Susan Winslow made sure that the young men were securely checked into their hotel rooms. Over the next two days, OPC ministers Michael Babcock, David Crum, Zach Keele, David VanDrunen, and Danny Olinger spoke to the "Timothies" on the topics of ministerial office, calling, and preparation for gospel ministry. The young men also attended seminary classes at Westminster Seminary California on Church History and Introduction to the New Testament and were given a special lecture on the importance of Greek and Hebrew by Charles Telfer. The conference experience was topped off with a game of Ultimate Frisbee in the sand next to the Pacific Ocean and dinners in the homes of John and Anneke Fesko and David and Katherine VanDrunen.
