October 18 Today in OPC History

On October 18, 1966, Albert Steever was ordained to the gospel ministry in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church by the Presbytery of Northern California and installed as pastor of First OPC, San Francisco. A graduate of Hatboro-Horsham High School in Horsham, PA, Shelton College and Westminster Seminary, Mr. Steever married Dorothy Bach on August 17, 1963. They would be blessed over their sixty-one years together with two children (Lisa and Jonathan), nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

After four years of service at First OPC, Mr. Steever pastored Immanuel OPC, West Collingswood, NJ from 1970-1982, Calvary OPC, Middletown, PA from 1983-1993, and Calvary OPC, Ringoes, NJ from 1997 until his retirement in 2006. On March 26, 2024, Mr. Steever died and went to be with the Lord in glory.
